A close-up of my Tech-Support! Sollux cosplay from Anime Central 2012.  (Also featured in this post.)  If anyone remembers me, I was the Sollux in Registration.
I originally didn’t post this here because my makeup flaws have been eating me alive.  (I have REALLY BAD cosplay OCD.  I’m pickier about my appearance in cosplay than probably anything else.)
However, a good friend let me know that I’m my own worst critic, and that what I have laser-focus on, no one else probably even noticed.  So here, have a rare Seneca-as-Sollux photo!
(Please excuse me as I hide under a table.)
OK, funny stories should take my mind off staring at my makeup!
Talking with Sollux’s lisp was unbelievably easy for me.  In fact, it was so easy that after ACen was over and I came home, the first night I went to sleep I dreamed I was working in Registration.  When I woke up, instead of greeting my fiancee with “Good Morning”, I said “2up”.  I legitimately could not shake that lisp for a day and a half!
When I was working at the cash registers and processing this one guy’s admission,  he complimented me on my shades (which at the time were completely covering my eyes).  I smiled at him, tilted my shades down, and said “thank2. ii made them my2elf.”  At the sight of my contacts, his jaw dropped.  It was hilarious!  What made it funnier was that he pretty much held that expression the entire time he was being processed.  I finally said to him, “dude, ii can’t 2ay ii’m not u2ed two beiing 2tared at twoday, but you’re 2tariing at me liike ii’m goiing two explode iintwo a two-hour fiirework2 dii2play or 2omethiing.”
We had a lot of great attendees, and despite not being able to get past my flawed makeup, I had a lot of fun.  I wish I’d had more time and energy to hang out with my friends, though—I hardly saw anyone I knew this year, and I really didn’t take any pics.
